THE DAY BEFORE · 22:15

22:15, on the sofa. Where's the wind this week?

The real app, start to finish: pick the hour, see the wind, plan — and find two friends riding the same loop on Thursday.

  1. When to ride

Pick the day and the hour.

  2. Which route

Pick a route — each one already shows its wind.

  3. Red is headwind, green is tailwind.

  4. How it rides

A great ride, says the verdict.

  5. Every stop with its own forecast. Now plan it.

  6. Who's riding

    You Tuesday, two on Thursday.

  7. Their hour, less wind.

  8. Two became three.

Pick the day that actually rides

One tap on another day — and the whole route recomputes. Saturday fights you all the way home, Sunday pushes you back to Odesa. Know before you go.

The weather where you'll be, when you'll be there

Wind2Ride doesn't check the weather once — it computes the forecast for the moment you'll actually reach each point of the route.

And the rest of the toolkit

Everything you touch before a ride — in one place.

Share it — see who rides it

Send a route as a link — it opens in any browser, no app needed. Add it, and you both see each other's rides and get a ping the moment one of you plans it.

Will the rain catch you?

Rain on Saturday — but where exactly? The drops mark the wet kilometres and the hour you get there.

Flip the loop

One tap rides the loop backwards and recounts the wind — 43% with it one way, 41% the other.

Which bike today?

Gravel, road or MTB — each bike gets its own routing and its own speed.

Your planned rides

An evening reminder and a pre-ride check for every ride you've planned.

“Catch a tailwind” alerts

A heads-up when the forecast turns in your favor.

Elevation & gradients

A gradient histogram for every route — flip it on to see the climbs and descents ahead.

Strava & GPX

Import routes and activities, export GPX to any head unit.

Wind2Ride doesn’t record your ride — it plans it. Keep Strava for the glory afterwards.

A fan project from Odesa

Hi, I’m Yevhen — a product designer who rides 100-kilometre loops through the steppe, where wind decides everything. Wind2Ride is my free side project: the planner I couldn’t find anywhere, so I built it. Odesa is just my home loop — the forecast and the maps are worldwide, so it works wherever you ride.

Free — and I'm doing everything I can to keep it that way. If the app grows to the point where the weather and map services start charging me, some extra features will get a price. The basics stay free, and our Telegram hears about it first.

A weather app gives you one number for one place. Wind2Ride splits your route into stretches and gives each one the wind at the hour you'll actually ride it — pick another day and see the difference at once.

Yes, anywhere. Weather, wind and maps are global, the app speaks seven languages and does km or miles, °C or °F. Odesa on this page is just where I live and ride.

Up to five days — about as far as a wind forecast is worth trusting. The closer the ride, the sharper the numbers.

As good as the weather and terrain forecasts I can get. For a ride a day or two ahead, riders find it solid.

iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play) — and most likely a simplified web version too.

No. Plan rides without one; sign in only if you want cloud sync and “who's riding”.

Import routes and activities from Strava, or any GPX file — Komoot, Garmin Connect and RideWithGPS all export one. Planned it? Export the GPX to your Garmin, Wahoo or any head unit.

By default your planned rides are visible to riders who have the same route — that's the point. You can switch it off anytime in the settings. A route you share by link opens for anyone who has the link.
